My actions before raising this issue

Expected Behaviour

Prior of merging the IAM PR (#3788) you only had what is now called personal workspace. I updated my cvat instance to include the IAM changes. I want to move my personal projects/ tasks moved to the organization I just created.

Current Behavior:

I cant move my projects and tasks to the organization

Your Environment

  • Git hash commit (git log -1): d3db54d

I am able to create a project inside the organization and move tasks there. However in the organization view I can't see the tasks inside the project.

Hi @StellaASchlotter

For now formally you can't move a task/project to an organization, but @nmanovic is working to implement the feature. Hope it will be available soon.

Moving tasks from personal workspace to a project from an organization is more bug than feature, because it does not set belongings of the task to the organization.

@bsekachev I am trying to do exactly the same thing- move a task from a personal workspace to an organization. I see that you closed the task. Has there been a solution for this issue?

This workaround may help others- in the meantime, I chose the option 'Backup Task' for the task in my personal workspace, then brought it back in by creating a task from backup in the organization.

The issue is closed, but I cannot see any solution.
How to move task from personal to org, is it even possible?

Edit: sorry bsekachev, the mentioned issue is closed and 'closed' icon appears close to the end of this thread; I didn't read it correctly.
I ended up just backuping the task and reuploading it (although it only works for small tasks for me, for the larger ones I get some errors related to annotation size, which is OK given that I am using the free version)

Is there any progress being made by @nmanovic?

For a self-hosted solution you can move tasks to organization using admin panel: https://host:port/admin/engine/task/

It worked for me if task does not belong to any project at least.

I have a bunch of projects and tasks assigned to them on the top level (so without organization). So I would need a batch solution for all the tasks and projects or I could also move the projects manually, if that would update all tasks automatically. But moving the tasks by hand is not feasible.

I'd like to +1 this feature request. Preferably by selecting an organization on the project info page in the admin panel.

Is there now a way of doing this?

I can use the admin page to move a task to a new organization and new project in that org from the default personal workspace I inherited during the upgrade. But I have to do it one task at a time. I have 40 some odd tasks "in flight" from before the upgrade, so it is tedious to do this one by one. I also create lots of tasks at a time, and going through one by one and assigning to a person to work on (and I cant seem to give multiple people access to a project and task/job, it looks like I need a project for each of my annotators) is no fun at all.

Would love to be able to select multiple jobs in the admin tasks page, set them all to an organization, set them all to a project, and set them all to a person.

Separately, would LOVE to be able to put multiple annotators into a project so that they can then assign themselves jobs inside that project without my intervention.
