I was somewhat expecting to have autocompletion for opening the database.
Using ~/testdb.sqlite3 wasn't recognised (I had to use /home/meeuw/testdb.sqlite3)

Do you mean file name completion?

Exactly, like you've implemented for \. in mycli.
