Putting in just an email, no u/p causes http500

k, i'll fix it tomorrow, although the whole login view probably needs to be changed a bit, since it's supposed to be accessible without an account

In that vein, what are accounts needed for? Are they really necessary? If we don't have project ownership/association, then what's the point of having users?

(that is to say, i would prefer if we could put in project ownership/etc for the demo, because that's an important part of the structure and it's easier to put it in now than to go without it and have to make a bunch of changes later on)
