Hello DSH team,
Thank you for the harness and for the plugin-first architecture — it made this possible without
touching the app.
We have a complete Russian localization of the web UI, built strictly on the public locale API
(ctx.locale.addLanguage / ctx.locale.register) as a client plugin: no patching, MIT.
• coverage: 57 of 57 namespaces, 2629 strings, 2625 translated (99.8%; the remaining 4 fall back
to English by design)
• built for: DSH 0.2.0-rc.2 (nightly channel)
• install: one line in cordis.patch.yml, removal is deleting that line
• pack attached to this post, sources and the build/verify toolchain included
Russian-speaking users are a noticeable part of your audience, and today each of them has to find
and maintain a third-party pack. We would be grateful if Russian shipped with the app next to
English and Chinese. From our side it looks like a small core change:
back to English (app menu, tray, quit and update dialogs);
trigger.fallback in dsh-client-ui-model-selection).
One request about updates: language packs should carry a version (we ship pack.json with version,
appVersion, namespaces, strings). If the bundled translation is older than the user's installed
pack, or the other way round, the app should say so and ask for confirmation — never silently
replace a newer translation with an older one.
We have read CONTRIBUTING.md and understand that you do not accept external pull requests at the
moment and that community packages are as welcome as official ones. So this is not a PR request:
it is a suggestion to bundle the language, and we are ready to keep the pack in sync with every
release and to sign whatever CLA you use. If you prefer to keep it as a plugin, that is fine too —
we will keep it published and maintained.
The translation was produced with the help of the agent inside DSH itself and reviewed by a
Russian-speaking user. Terminology follows a single style guide (included in the pack).
Thank you for considering it.
