We were asked if a lower/test environment for the landing page could be made available for MHV help desk / coordinators / support staff / contact centers / etc… so they can train on the products. this, as we know, is tricky because:
Per Kay Lawyer, for Scheduling, they patched together a bunch of systems to show how things work on VA.gov for appointments. It requires a VistA SQA instance, then someone needs to have access to the staff tool to make an appt, shared test patients with MPI, registration, etc.
Note from Daniel Cloud: the backend/vets-api could handle more robust logic around feature toggles and landing page view prerequisites… if we moved “who-sees-what” logic to backend… also could make the page more static and performant on users devices
