Login requirements

To use upro, you need an API key (See the EVE Online support page here) with the following properties:

• Character: Select the character you want to associate the login with. ('All' is not valid)
• Type: 'Character'
• Access Mask = 0 (no access to anything, all check boxes on the right cleared)

If a key does not match these criteria, login is rejected and a corresponding message displayed.

upro needs this key to query the IDs and names of bound character, corporation, and (if applicable) the alliance - nothing else. It is used as authentication to prove the user accessing the service is an actual (active) pilot.

In the future, when CREST is available, authentication via CREST will be used as the primary method.
