Previously, non-default account IDs were an oversized principal that included the subaccount; now the WG has standardized on an alternative format that visually separates the subaccount from the principal. This is technically a breaking change but it is unlikely anyone had a chance to use the old format before it got replaced.
Do not merge before dfinity/ICRC-1#98.
