Compiling:

Prerequisites:
1. Linux box with C++ compiler and python 2.x.
2. Qt development tools, headers and libs.

How to build:
$ tar xzf showbadblocks.tgz
$ cd showbadblocks
$ qmake
$ make

How to use:
$ ./showbadblocks -s 10 /dev/sdX
... wait till it finishes ...
... it saves files every 10 minutes ...

Files:

badblocks_dev_sdX.png - map of bad blocks (picture)
badblocks_dev_sdX.txt - list of bad blocks (not sorted!)
badblocks_dev_sdX.span - list of bad block spans (not tested!)


Using badblocks2parted.py:

1. Modify the script (replace hardcoded values with yours)
2. Run:
$ python badblocks2parted.py

It prints the commands needed to create (and delete) RAID JBOD on the disk.
