Actually this Failsafe Function for Battery Failsafe is implemented:

When a battery failsafe is triggered one of the following will happen:

  • Disarm motors – if you are in stabilize or acro mode and your throttle is zero
  • RTL – if you are in AUTO mode, have a GPS lock and are at least 2 meters from your home position
  • LAND – in all other cases

It would be great to get the ability that the APM in case of Battery Failsafe switch to RTL too when the Mode is Stabilize or Alt Hold and not only in AUTO Mode.

Like this:

  • RTL – if you are in Stabilize/Alt Hold mode, have a GPS lock and are at least 2 meters from

Something similar was discussed on the dev-list not long ago. I proposed 2 battery failsafe levels of which the first triggers a configurable action and a couple of people were in agreement. S. https://groups.google.com/d/msg/drones-discuss/pj3FhDVQJBU/09Ae8ztnu-4J

There's also a proposal for the machine based on Olivier's revised failsafe machine, s. https://groups.google.com/d/msg/drones-discuss/pj3FhDVQJBU/7nmhUnKmQoYJ

The ability to switch to RTL on battery failsafe is now implemented in AC3.1
