I got my docker to behave inconsistency and I can't get it back to normal even after rebooting the machine and/or restarting docker service (through the CLI). While the CLI says it's running...

$ docker service list
Error response from daemon: Bad response from Docker engine
Exit 1

$ docker ps
Error response from daemon: Bad response from Docker engine
Exit 1
