Improve git push process

Right now we're just running a series of git commands to push back to the repo inside the gitlab-ci.yml. I'd like to tweak this so that there's maybe something like labdoc publish from-gitlab-ci, which could do all of the push logic without needing to run a bunch of additional shell commands
