Lite::Ruby

Lite::Ruby is a collection of useful Ruby methods for its primitive classes. AcitveSupport equivalent methods do not get included when AcitveSupport is available.

NOTE: If you are coming from ActiveObject, please read the port section.

Installation

Add this line to your application's Gemfile:

gem 'lite-ruby'

And then execute:

$ bundle

Or install it yourself as:

$ gem install lite-ruby

Configurations

Any and all monkey patches must be explicitly included anywhere you want to use it.

To globally use the monkey patches, just create an initializer requiring them.

rails g lite:ruby:install will generate the following file: ../config/initalizers/lite_ruby.rb

They can be disabled by commenting any of them out.

Port

Lite::Ruby is a compatible port of ActiveObject.

Development

After checking out the repo, run bin/setup to install dependencies. Then, run rake spec to run the tests. You can also run bin/console for an interactive prompt that will allow you to experiment.

To install this gem onto your local machine, run bundle exec rake install. To release a new version, update the version number in version.rb, and then run bundle exec rake release, which will create a git tag for the version, push git commits and tags, and push the .gem file to rubygems.org.
