@iteles you used the expression "new _organisation_" on several occasions: L32, L53, L140 ...
I think we should nip that in the bud. We have a perfectly good great company already and having to set up a "new company" with new branding, logo, domains, etc. would be time consuming (wasteful).

We should request people's feedback on using using _dwyl_ as the brand.
Such that the menu on the site becomes:

Why? | Who? | What? | How? | Hire A Team!

dwyl already has _several popular projects_ on GitHub and _expanding global membership_ of people who contribute _voluntarily_ (because they use our code in their projects and want to help improve things ...) this means everything we build for clients will already have a built-in support system. Once clients realise the _Power_ of having an Open Source _Community_ and how its Good [for] Business they will flock.

I've heard good great things about this DWYL thingy - the only note of caution I have is a question perhaps arising because of legal ignorance:

What if someone sued DWYL the agency - would this affect DWYL the product you've been working on?

@rub1e (another) interesting question.
we have not had a vote on the idea yet, but... to answer your question regarding any legal considerations, we already have _professional indemnity insurance_ (from my time as a contractor) which will cover "The Team" up to £10M inc all legal fees etc. we don't expect to undertake any project where our exposure will exceed this in the near future...

I'm going to leave this question open as it relates to whether we should create a brand new org or re-purpose an existing one we already have a trademark for ...

It would seem, anecdotally, that people in Founders & Coders are already referring to this organisation as 'dwyl' so popular consensus is leaning in that direction.

For the reasons @nelsonic mentions above there seem to be many more pro's than con's to using the dwyl brand.

Two things we need to ensure:

  1. There is already a big OSS community around this brand, based on our core set of beliefs. To protect that community and its longevity, we need to make sure that our hand is never forced into a project we wouldn't ordinarily undertake by strong opinions in the Founders & Coders space. This seems obvious, but there will always be people in the space who are great people but who do not share dwyl's core beliefs - if we're making dwyl 'the organisation' then this becomes about more than my personal preferences, it becomes about the longevity of dwyl's global culture.
  2. We need to provide context on https://github.com/dwyl/start-here to explain our priorities and multiple functions.

If there are no comments here to the contrary by end Wednesday 11th November GMT, we'll consider it done and carry out #32.
