The OS on my Mac updated at some point during the last 2 days to:

And now every time I try to do anything that creates an interaction between remote and Github (clone a rep, push a branch), it asks me for my passphrase:

Eek! Will try a couple more things today @naazy and let you know what works 👍
Never had this problem before and have had 2FA for as long as I can remember 😕

I ended up solving this for mac by following this answer on SO:
http://superuser.com/questions/1127067/macos-keeps-asking-my-ssh-passphrase-since-i-updated-to-sierra/1158050#1158050

I created the config file in my root 'Code' directory:

atom ~/.ssh/config
