Sprouting: Ultra High Nutrition Density with Minimal Cost #131
Comments
Home grown is much better. I have fenugreek and alfalfa seeds sprouting,
only because I have nothing else in my cupboard.

Meanwhile I’m adding *store-bought* mung bean sprouts to my raw green
veg-only smoothie (soup) today:

Hoping to use home-grown sprouts next week. 🌱🙌

@carolrmc those two are a good starting point. 🌱 My aim is to have a production line of sprouts here in Braga and to consume a cup of sprouts each day in my soup/salad/smoothie. The benefits to the microbiome (an thus health in general) are really worth the effort. The cost of seeds is less than the price of a bread roll each day; it's really a no-brainer. |
I totally agree!
Have you a copy of William Li's book Eat to Beat Disease?
If you do, could I borrow it?
I was listening to an interview with him on Farmaceuticals last night.
His studies are mind blowing.
Really have to plant pomegranates - more medicinal than avos!
Also kiwis - it's a one a day fruit for optimal health

As I recall, you only have *two sprouting jars*? 🤔
I ordered 3 because I know I've got a couple more in storage.
But if you need more, please let me know!
Also, if you are unable to find a source/supplier of Broccoli seeds for
sprouting, let me know!

We haven't got Li's book, but I've seen him on a few YT interviews. 👍 |
Variety is correct, but he also discusses specific phyto nutrients for
specific disorders. Pomegranate is big and so will make hay when they’re in
season soon!!

The gist appears to be eat more *variety* of fruit and veg.
I'm trying to pack as many different things into my daily raw green soup
as possible.

Today was the first day that I included my own homegrown seedlings/sprouts in my Raw Green Soup:
These are sunflower seeds: https://www.naturitas.pt/p/alimentacao/sementes-para-germinar/girassol-sementes-para-germinar-bio-100-g-nature-et-partage The sunflower seeds germinated for 4 days and cost me approximately 10 cents. |
When we lived in London, I used to sprout various types of seeds on a regular basis.
The taste of sprouts takes a bit of getting used to, but given the nutritional density, it's worth it!
There are many videos on YouTube on the benefits of Sprouting: youtube.com?search_query=sprouting+health+benefits
Countless posts and articles online e.g: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=sprouting
I haven't been thinking about sprouting for a while ... but that's a mistake! Sprouts are a no-brainer!
https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/broccoli-sprouts
In this recent Rich Roll Podcast episode, Doug Evans describes his love of Sprouting:
These are the Germination jars I used in London:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vogel-Biosnacky-Germinator-Seed-Pack/dp/B00DELSHZ2
We have 3 of them in a box in storage (I don't know where ...) 🤷♂️
Hoping to find them when we unpack everything (soon).
Meanwhile I think it's worth ordering a bag of mixed organic sprouting seeds:
https://www.buywholefoodsonline.eu/organic-sprouting-mix-500g.html
PT Supplier: https://www.eco-growing.com/produto/sementes-organicas-girassol-microvegetais-sprouting/?attribute_pa_outras-opcoes=5kg
Our local health food shop sells them too: https://www.celeiro.pt/catalogsearch/result/?q=sementes+germinar
But their price per kilo is quite expensive ...
This is the cheapest I've found online in PT:
https://www.naturitas.pt/p/alimentacao/superalimentos/sementes-de-canhamo-1-kg-energy-feelings
Free postage over €49 and €5 discount over €60 ... might need to see what
else
they have ... 💭The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
