Chore: Removing 20 Tons of Soil/Dirt from the Hole ... 🚧

Part of building the Sunroom #14 is digging out the basement for the lower level.

This is what it looks like today:

It's difficult to understand the volume of earth from this picture, but there's a lot!

We can dig this out by hand with shovels, it just takes a bit (5x) longer than using machines.
The difficult part is what do we do with all the soil we dig up?
For the first half of the hole Carlos (our old Foreman) loaded up his dumper truck and offloaded the soil on his brothers land.
But for this second half we are a bit stuck. 🤷‍♂️

• @iteles please call Carlos and ask him if we can either rent his equipment or get him to come here for a couple of hours for 3 days it should be enough to remove most of the earth. 🙏

Our current Foreman 👷‍♂️ recommended speaking to "Lino" who has the machines necessary to dig the rest of the hole and remove the earth.

He gave us the following quote:

• €65/h for the tractor + trailer to transport and dump the earth.
• €35/h mini digger (4.5 Ton) to dig the rest of the hole
• €35/h for the Bobocat to move the earth from the hole to the trailer

He estimates that it will take 2-3 days to remove the earth.
I'm sceptical. 🙄
I think best-case scenario it will be 5 days.

If they work 8 hours per day, that's (€35 + €35 + €65) x 8h x 5 days = €5,400 💰 😮
This is a mountain of cash ... ⛰️
But until we finish the garden the house is a building site and thus zero revenue. 😢
The monthly opportunity cost is more than this. 💸

As it turns out they were able to do the work in 2 long days but it got done. 🚧 ✅
Now we have an invoice to pay. 💸
@iteles could you please follow-up with Lino to get the invoice into a shape that our UK co can pay 🙏
inform him that the payment will be made the same hour that the invoice is in the correct format. 👌

@iteles Lino has called me 6 times in the last couple of days to chase the invoice/payment. Do you have the time to prepare it today or can I do it? 🙏
