The main area of the pool has been built, as has the machine enclosure.
Now that the roof is complete and there is no longer a risk of further damage to the pool, it needs to be completed.

Tasks

  • Speak to Sr. Pinheiro ASAP to get them to come and dredge the pool so that it dries and they can put in the tela soon (emailed already)
  • Speak to Sr. Pinheiro about the pump in the machine room
  • Determine what needs to be done to free up space for the heat pump enclosure
  • Determine how water and electricity will be connected to both the heat pump and the machine room
  • Determine whether casa das máquinas já está electrificada e transformadores de iluminação já estão feitos - i.e. will they pass the electrical inspection?
  • Confirm whether pool cover has arrived
  • Confirm expected timelines for the pathway next to the pool to be covered (linked to Gutters  #67 (comment))
  • Get timelines for all remaining steps (installing covers, getting the heat pump structure in place and the pump installed)
  • Get the work done:
    • Treating the pool water and cleaning the pool
    • Cleaning the streaks from the pool lining
    • Filling the pool
    • Adding the cover to the pool
    • Adding the cover to the spa area
    • Finishing the exhaust for the machine area
    • Fix chipped and cracked tiles
    • Building the enclosure for the hot water pump
    • Installing the heat pump
    • Installing the shower
    • Make sure there is a switch above ground for the pool lights (next to cover switch)
    • Connecting the pool to the water well Water Well / Poço de água #79 water supply
    • Connecting the spa to the mains AND water well supply
    • Hooking everything up
    • Ensure all tubing in the front garden is connected correctly to the drainage
    • Testing the system
    • Close the walkway
  • Confirm all paperwork and guarantees with correct dates are in our hands before final payments
  • Make sure that we take off the money they owe us for not sealing the machine room correctly

Spoke to Sr. Pinheiro FINALLY today after multiple chases a week. He's still waiting for the tela to be delivered to him and he's meeting with the 'tela guy' tomorrow or Thursday to schedule everything in. We should hear more at the end of the week.

@iteles not much point "chasing" this until the Electricity is hooked up.
The last thing we want is a pool full of water and no pumps/filters to maintain the water.
If anything, we should be pursuing the Avac/Aircon team who haven't finished connecting the tubes:

Without this being done the Solar Panel people cannot install our panels on the south-facing roof.
Without solar panels (i.e. "free electricity") it will cost us €5/day in power to have a pool ...

I spoke to Francisco this morning after the solar panel installation folks noted that this was an issue and he will be putting men at the house tomorrow to connect the cabling to the external machines.

I've spoken to the pool people and told them that I would rather have the pool lining done when the pool is able to be filled and the pool cover is already available to be added in order to protect the pool. The pool cover left Spain yesterday and should be here next week.

I will have more information next week on exact timings.

A call place in early November let us know that the pool cover arrived but was incorrect (unlikely 🙄) so was sent back and we are awaiting a new one which should have arrived early this week.

Tried calling today for a follow-up but no joy even after a few calls.

Have updated with OP with more steps.

This work will start again on Monday or Tuesday 13th/14th Jan 2020 for around 5 days.

Awaiting a comprehensive list of what needs to be done so we can build on it but it will include:

  • Treating the pool water and cleaning the pool
  • Adding the covers to the pool and spa areas
  • Finishing the exhaust for the machine area
  • Fix chipped and cracked tiles
  • Building the enclosure for the hot water pump
  • Installing the heat pump
  • Installing the shower
  • Hooking everything up
  • Testing the system
  • Close the walkway

The only thing that I have asked NOT to happen yet is the installation of the sauna until we have specs on what weather it can withstand.

@iteles it could be worth adding those bullet points to the issue description 📝
so that they show up as checklist items ... ✅ 💭
I would upload a photo of the pool in it's current state, but I really don't want to put anyone off ... 🙄
Cannot wait for the water to be treated and heated to test it all out out! 🏊

@nelsonic, that's the plan, I was just waiting for a final list.

Anything you'd like to add?

The plan is that they will get back to work this week.

Added the initial list above to the OP.

Between Wednesday 6th and Friday 8th May, the pool guys will take a day to come and finalize the work they can and walk us through whatever else needs to be done.

Apparently our spa cover has now arrived in Portugal 😱

Our pool suppliers have swapped out 50% of their staff in the last month so are currently training people but Sr Pinheiro says they are going to try to fix the cover next week. I'll believe it when I see it.

The sauna is still pending and he will find out what's going on.

I really hope the cover is nice (not tacky...) 🤞

Pool guy came to do a check of what was happening with our spa filter.

Meantime he was able to reduce the times of the pool filter (only needs 8 hours a day in the heat because of bacteria proliferation). At this temperature he has reduced it to 2 lots of 2 hours (for the pool, the spa will need less time).
I've asked that one lot of this is between 02h00 - 06h00 to take advantage of the lower cost bracket of electricity.

Hmmmmmm. Apparently it can be ‘another colour we choose’ which makes me think it hasn’t been ordered yet 🙄

But these hot tub covers seem particularly impractical seeing as ours only has 2 sides it can be gripped onto? I’m really not sure how they’d work let alone how annoyed I’d be having to tie this thing down every damn day.
