arcconf need an update #48
Comments
Hello, I uploaded a couple of versions to the repository. Could you show me what happens when using version 2.xx ? Regards, Adam.
|
Thank you for giving back arcconf package! Version 2.02 (B22404) working fine. |
@Nagainos Can you also install aacraid-status and send me the output (or errors :D) ? |
Yep. That it is: -- Arrays informations -- -- Disks informations There is at least one disk/array in a NOT OPTIMAL state. Use "arcconf GETCONFIG [1-9]" to get details. |
Ok, theres no array displayed. Can you downgrade to version 1.08 ? Adam On November 2, 2016 9:29:06 AM GMT+01:00, Nagainos notifications@github.com wrote:

Yes, arcconf downgraded to version 1.08:
|
Are you really getting the shell error in the middle of the output ?!?!? Le 2016-11-02 12:46, Nagainos a écrit :

Yes, that's is right. And I do not getting him after update arcconf utility at version 2.02.22404(but array information is empty).
This behavior is saved(shell error) after update to any of version arcconf, exclude 2.02.22404(we can see him behavior at up) and 7.31.18856(this version doesn't work anytime) |
Can you add "print(cmd)" right after "def getOutput(cmd):" (respect indentation) in /usr/sbin/aacraid-status en re-run with arcconf-1.08 ? |
Complete.
Python version is 2.7.3 |
Wow, that's insane. Can you replace "print(cmd)" with "print(repr(cmd))" ? |
Complete
|
Are you sure you did not messed up the script ? If running Debian. can you give apt-get install --reinstall aacraid-status a try ? |
How I can corrup that script momentarily after install? What I can do to that? I can try to make something, but I do not many action about this python script.
Package reinstalled and problem is persist.
Before reinstall package aacraid-status I'm try to install arcconf=1:2.02.22404-1 and run aacraid-status with print(repr(cmd)) and I can't see row ('"%s" GETSTATUS %s', ('/usr/sbin/arcconf', 1))
It's a strange situation.
|
Can you send /usr/sbin/arcconf" GETCONFIG 1 LD 0 output with 1.08 and 2.02 ? I'll forget the sh error as I have absolutely no idea what the issue could be. Let's focus on getting the wrapper working with 2.x ;-) |
I send details to e-mail about how work arcconf under strace. I found some file path where mabye exist debug logs and if I create him at disk arcconf write some infos about work him. This files from my system I send to you email, but I'm not sure what any people can analyze logs without source codes of arcconf utility.

Hello Adam,
today I installed a new machine with a Microsemi (ex Adaptec) controller serie 8
as usual I used your useful repo, the version provided by you is this one:
/usr/sbin/arcconf -v
but not support my new controller
so googling a bit I discovered various new version of arcconf, this seems the last one
http://storage.microsemi.com/en-us/speed/raid/storage_manager/arcconf_v2_01_22270_zip.php
and it support my new controller. The problem is that the last version has a different syntax so your utility aacraid-status has some problems.
Using an intermediate version like 1.7 seems all fine, also aacraid-status.

Thank you for your support,
cheers iotaka
