Many existing, well established home automation systems are based on wired communication such as Arduino based and raspberry pi based home automation systems. This does not pose a problem until the system is planned well in advance and installed during the physical construction of the building. Existing home automation systems are expensive and are made for new installations and not for adding remote controllability to existing infrastructure.
Therefore, this project aims to propose a fully programmable generic automation system for existing electronic devices with a user-friendly cross-platform graphic user interface built using Flutter. While also providing the user to view rich data insights using graphical representation techniques to monitor, manage, automate usage of electrical energy in a given infrastructure.
The system acts as a smart extension for existing switch board, it listens for changes in the firebase database and control the electrical appliances according to user requirement.
Main objective of the project is to make infrastructure automation affordable and adoptible for all classes of society, following is the price list for the components used in the device.
And therefore bring the total approximate hardware cost of each device to about Rs. 1250 excluding casing and installation charges.
