Possible regression? WiFi-Settings NTP sync only

Hi guys,

it seems that the "Sync Only" option in the Wifi-Settings does not work reliably anymore for me. After turning it on, the receiver connects successfully to the Wifi network, tries to get a sync from NTP-server yet fails after some 10 seconds with the error message "NTP sync failed". As far as I remember this behavior started from version 2.43. Can anybody confirm this?
Both of my receivers worked fine before and show the same error.

Hi.

In my tests it syncs reliably. But the regressions are definitely possible because I changed the library that is used to synchronize the time and it has different timeouts.

I will see what I can do.

Hi Max,

maybe all it needs is a longer timeout period: I changed the Wifi-Setting to "Connect", power cycled the receiver, and after about 30 seconds the correct time came up on the display. If you gave it a longer timeout - to maybe 1 minute - it might solve the issue?

Also measure (approximately) the time from the Wi-Fi connection success to the clock synchronization success

For me the time from power on to a successful sync is about 8-10 seconds (with a single 2.4GHz Wi-Fi access point configured)

Your test build works great. From flipping the switch, it takes about 2 seconds for the screen to turn on, 6 seconds to log onto the WiFi, and 23 seconds (in total) to get the sync from the NTP server. This fix solves the issue, and thanks for adressing it so fast! Spasibo bolshoi!
