EIP-1559 Implementers' Call 1

The purpose of this call is for various teams/individuals working on aspects of EIP-1559 to discuss the implementation plan and next steps to move the EIP forward.

Agenda

  • Status updates from implementers
  • Various 1559-related concerns (see this comment)
  • EIP-2593 overview

  • benchmarks, expectations?
  • coordinate schedules and possibly, create a email thread as well (e.g. subscribed to this issue)
  • progress per implementation
  • modelling bidding behavior over time
  • how expressive is the bidding language in relation to actual transaction use
  • potential issues with working on different chains if any
  • end user education on this system
  • how to expressively communicate your bid (transactions involve more than just remittance)
  • how do you estimate tx confirmation estimate and how reliable are those new estimate
  • test net deployment standard or base line expectation of the utility out of those environments
  • to what extent are deployed contracts on the network now materially affected ? Mitigation strategies for those ?
  • UXUI outline or reference of what users should see in order to be able to express their bids properly
  • Promotional outreach to communities
  • language translation and assessment of different cultural norms as it relates to bidding and how it might impact an orderly adoption.

I am putting together historical data, price indexs and some additional tools

I strongly prefer ethereum/EIPs#2593 for its simplicity and backwards compatibility, will this be considered in any modeling?

@moodysalem I think it could be good if you or a champion came on the call to give more details about it. I don't think most people are very familiar with it.

I'm willing to present ethereum/EIPs#2593 as a champion if needed, thanks for mentioning it, @moodysalem. The above Discord link has expired, though, so I'd need a new one.
