Release list
v0.1.0
First release. guesswork is a zsh plugin: as you type, it sends your recent shell history to an AI model and asks which command you're most likely retyping — abbreviations (gst → git status) and fuzzy matches, not just literal prefixes. The best guess appears inline, fish-style, grey text after your cursor. Press → to accept it.
Install
curl -fsSL https://guesswork.findmalek.com/install.sh | bashArrow-key setup wizard picks a provider, verifies credentials with one live request, writes everything into ~/.zshrc for you. Idempotent — safe to re-run, switches providers cleanly.
Highlights
- Real AI ranking, not prefix matching — one request per keystroke asks a Choice (which candidate) and a Noul (does anything plausibly complete this at all), gated so nonsense yields nothing.
- Four interchangeable providers — TypeSafe direct or Cloudflare Workers AI both run the real purpose-built Jev model; Anthropic (Claude Haiku) and Groq (GPT-OSS 20B, speed-optimized on LPU hardware) are fallbacks for anyone who'd rather not sign up for either.
- Candidates beyond history —
package.jsonscripts andMakefiletargets are offered too, including commands you've never actually run. - Terminal-agnostic — hooks zsh's line editor directly via
POSTDISPLAY+region_highlight, the same mechanismzsh-autosuggestionsuses. No raw escape codes, no per-emulator special-casing. - Pennies per year — TypeSafe/Cloudflare price input at $42/billion tokens; even a few hundred requests a day for a full year lands around $10 total.
- guesswork.findmalek.com — a landing page with a live terminal playground ranked by the real Jev model through a rate-limited server proxy, with a local deterministic fallback.
See the README for the full provider comparison, configuration options, and how it works under the hood.
