Using HTML comments ( ) around BBCode tags seems to break the whole blog.

Couldn' reproduce this.

Outerbefore <!-- Innerbefore [b]some text in [i]BBCode[/i][/b] Innerafter --> Outerafter
in an entry produces as expected:
Outerbefore Outerafter

@fluffrabbit, can you please provide an example content causing the described behaviour?
