Problem
While trying to create a 3D extrusion of the top plate (alps) I noticed that the paths of the outline were not connected. FreeCad constantly failed to create the 3D shape despite many attempts to correct it.
Change
Using Inkscape I've manually joined the nodes of the paths that form the outside contour of the left and right plates. The geometry was unchanged. Just hoping to save others some time.
