Install the following libraries: % sudo apt-get install git-core erlang libpam0g-dev make libexpat1-dev zlib1g-dev libssl-dev automake libtool bison libmysqlclient16-dev lib64ncurses5-dev build-essential mono-2.0-devel libboost-dev ruby1.8-dev sun-java6-jdk ant pkg-config flex libmozjs-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev subversion mono-devel ejabberd pkg-config flex # might need depending on server environment % sudo apt-get install openjdk-6-jre lamp-server^ vim unzip % git config --global color.ui true *Note: Use temp4now as mysql server root password vim ~/.bashrc (both root and chatyeo user) export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/erlware/bin export ERL_LIBS=/opt/erlang-libs/:/usr/lib/erlang/lib/:/usr/local/erlware/lib/ source ~/.bashrc % wget http://faxien.googlecode.com/files/faxien-launcher-universal-0.3.4.py % sudo python faxien-launcher-universal-0.3.4.py (accept defaults, say (n)ew when asking about config files) Become chatyeo(or some other local user): ** For hbase and thrift $ sudo apt-get install libboost-dev $ sudo apt-get install ruby1.8-dev $ cd ~/ $ svn co http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/thrift/trunk thrift $ cd thrift $ ./bootstrap.sh $ ./configure $ make $ sudo make install For HBase: $ sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk $ sudo update-java-alternatives -s java-6-sun $ sudo apt-get install ant ########## Download HBase, uncompress and edit hbase-env.sh to point to your Java and compile: $ cd ~/ $ wget http://apache.imghat.com/hadoop/hbase/hbase-0.19.3/hbase-0.19.3.tar.gz $ tar -zxvf hbase-0.19.3.tar.gz $ cd hbase-0.19.3/ $ nano conf/hbase-env.sh ... # The java implementation to use. Java 1.6 required. # export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0/ export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/ ... $ ant Copy Thrift’s Erlang libs to your Erlang lib dir: $ sudo cp -R ~/thrift/lib/erl /usr/lib/erlang/lib/thrift-0.1.0/ $ cd ~/hbase-0.19.3 $ ./bin/start-hbase.sh $ ./bin/hbase thrift start & Download chatyeo files Now run the code: % cd defyned/scripts % sudo ./setup_node % ./setup_dbs % ./setup_users Do the following each time you install the chatyeo code on a new instance Modify the following files: chatyeo/lib/chatyeo/src/utils/topic_detector.erl sandbox/myrpc.erl change the @server to the one you want to connect to. everytime there are changes, on the source, run ~./deploy_chatyeo under chatyeo/scripts to recompile % ./deploy_chatyeo % chatyeo Extra notes: To view ejabberd admin page: http://localhost:5280/admin (use chatyeo@localhost as user and temp4now as password) *************** IMPORTANT NOTES *************** **For new mysql may need to edit my.cnf and get rid of skip-federated option vim /etc/mysql/my.cnf may also need to mv /usr/local/share/mysql /usr/share/ **You may need to modify /etc/ld.so.conf if indexer gives link errors when starting: emacs /etc/ld.so.conf -- include /etc/ld.so.conf.d/*.conf /usr/local/lib/mysql **To reindex sphinx run: indexer --rotate messages ** to get nltk working: sudo apt-get install python-numpy python-matplotlib prover9 wget http://nltk.googlecode.com/files/nltk-2.0b5.zip unzip nltk-2.0b5.zip cd nltk-2.0b5/ sudo python setup.py install ** to download nltk data (by default installed in ~/nltk_data) python >>> import nltk >>> nltk.download() ** cron job for sphinx sudo cp scripts/update_sphinx /etc/cron.d/ test2
