Become chatyeo(or some other local user): 

** For hbase and thrift

$ sudo apt-get install libboost-dev
$ sudo apt-get install ruby1.8-dev
$ cd ~/
$ svn co http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/thrift/trunk thrift
$ cd thrift
$ ./bootstrap.sh
$ ./configure
$ make
$ sudo make install

For HBase:

$ sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk
$ sudo update-java-alternatives -s java-6-sun
$ sudo apt-get install ant

Download HBase, uncompress and edit hbase-env.sh to point to your Java and compile:

$ cd ~/
$ wget http://apache.imghat.com/hadoop/hbase/hbase-0.19.3/hbase-0.19.3.tar.gz
$ tar -zxvf hbase-0.19.3.tar.gz
$ cd hbase-0.19.3/
$ nano conf/hbase-env.sh

Copy Thrift’s Erlang libs to your Erlang lib dir:

$ sudo cp -R ~/thrift/lib/erl /usr/lib/erlang/lib/thrift-0.1.0/

$ cd ~/hbase-0.19.3
$ ./bin/start-hbase.sh

$ ./bin/hbase thrift start &


Download chatyeo files

Now run the code:

% cd defyned/scripts
% sudo ./setup_node
% ./setup_dbs
% ./setup_users

Do the following each time you install the chatyeo code on a new instance

Modify the following files:
	chatyeo/lib/chatyeo/src/utils/topic_detector.erl
	sandbox/myrpc.erl

change the @server to the one you want to connect to.

everytime there are changes, on the source, run ~./deploy_chatyeo under chatyeo/scripts to recompile
% ./deploy_chatyeo
% chatyeo

To view ejabberd admin page: http://localhost:5280/admin
(use chatyeo@localhost as user and temp4now as password)

**For new mysql may need to edit my.cnf and get rid of skip-federated option
vim /etc/mysql/my.cnf

may also need to mv /usr/local/share/mysql /usr/share/

**You may need to modify /etc/ld.so.conf if indexer gives link errors when starting:

include /etc/ld.so.conf.d/*.conf
