Have you added the dropbox link to the kobocloudrc file and restarted the kobo? Restarting is important (for some reason). It seems that the program is not reading your dropbox link correctly: do you see these "Reading" and "Getting" lines? after those words you should see your dropbox link.

yeah the link is in the file and I've powered it off and on a few times now, but the log is the same, only timestamp is different. Is there anything else I'm missing?

@czebrahat, @fsantini,

Can either of you give me some guidance on installing this? I'm literally stuck at step one (running the script??) Is this to be done on a Linux machine or something? Where do I download the files? (Sorry- I'm very new to github!)

Hi, you can just download the latest KoboRoot.tgz file from the Releases page and place it in the .kobo directory of your reader by attaching it to a PC. Reboot the reader and then follow the instructions on how to edit the kobocloudrc file.

I'm fairly certain I followed the instructions correctly. My Kobocloudrc file now reads,

https://www.dropbox.com/"mylink" # Add your URLs to this file

and the log reads

but I see no change to my book list or anything? Any tips? (and btw I greatly appreciate the assistance!)

Hmm. I tried a few different things and now my get file shows

Reading (Dropbox address)
Getting (Dropbox address)
Getting (Dropbox address)
Done

But I see no new books!!

Well this is very promising! Do the books have the epub extension? Can you please check that the first address after "getting" is different from the second? The second should be the book itself and it seems that everything went smoothly.

All books have an epub extension. There are only books in the folder (I've tried with multiple books, And also with just one)
The links after getting are identical.
Only other thing to note is that my link ends in ?dl=0

Not sure if that would impact? It's the copied link directly from Dropbox share menu.

Also, not sure if it would matter, but I have koreader installed and kfmon

Ok! After dedicating some time to this this afternoon, I've got it fixed. Reset the Clara to factory, then started by installing kobocloud. The key for me was inputting my link in BEFORE the #, but also with a space at the end of the link. Maybe that was obvious, but not to me! Everything worked after that! Reinstalled koreader and everything is great now! Thanks for all the assistance!

I think that the space was the problem. I will try to fix this! Thanks!

I'm just amazed more people aren't aware if this tool! Totally makes my Kobo experience a dream! I love being able to just sync to my Dropbox! Amazing!
