@timelyportfolio @nteetor (and anyone else) would love to hear your thoughts on a possible way forward. Based on the discussions held in the other repo it seems that most are in favour of a pipes approach so I've let the R6 code go. It was fun to try this out but i wouldn't want to take this any further based on these impressions. For the meantime i've only left up here the possibility to pass in data from R alongside the G2 JS plotting api. In any case I would be glad to contribute to/try out what occurs in g2r or golly. cheers

@mdequeljoe is this still being considered for further development? happy to contribute if that's the case.

@soedr glad to hear that! at least for this repo i can say that no - nothing further is planned. I ended up implementing the R6 idea with vegalite here.

@mdequeljoe very neat with vl. @soedr, I am very interested in pushing this along, but I don't have R at work anymore, so am quite constrained with respect to how much time I can spend. Also, I have decided that I don't want to work solo on such an amibitious project, so will wait to see if anyone decides to join in the fun.

@timelyportfolio ok great, I'm very interested in working on this. To be perfectly honest, I don't think I have enough experience to take the lead on this but am happy to contribute. I could re-open the discussion on the RStudio community to see if there are others who would like to contribute to get the ball rolling. Thoughts?
