NTR:dpCoA-cap decapping #21409
Comments
hello, Just wanted to know if this term would be available soon. |
Hi @SHS111 What do you think if we made this a molecular function (and the sibling term you requested in #21408) , to match 'NAD-cap (NAD-forming) hydrolase activity' (requested in #17594)? I would like to have your input on this (and maybe that of @sylvainpoux as he requested the other terms) - but based on the papers you quote, it seems like RA capping/decapping mediates RNA stability/degradation, initiation, quality control, etc. All these processes are currently missing in the ontology - for example we could probably add 'methylguanosine-cap decapping' part of 'nuclear-transcribed mRNA catabolic process' Thanks, Pascale |
Hi Pascale and Shyamala (@SHS111), I thing it makes sense to create Molecular Function terms as all reactions correspond to Rhea reactions (NAD, FAD etc.). Regarding the Process, a generic term describing RNA capping makes sense, but it would be important to separate them from the classical methylguanosine-cap. Thanks Sylvain |
This should be linked with this work? |
correction this is the decapping ticket #24919 |
Related to #21408, which needs discussion |
Hello,
i would like to propose a new term dpCoA-cap decapping
Definition : Cleavage of the dpCoA-cap of an RNA
It should be the child term of GO:0110154 RNA decapping
References are PubMed=32374864 & PubMed=32432673
Thanks
Shyamala Sundaram
