[Panel] Avoid unlabelled icons #2
Comments
The media query is kicking in too late/early. I only removed the labels for the mobile version, in lack of a better solution what to do with multiple options in the header. I'm not a big fan of icons without labels either, but I'm also not entirely sure how to solve this better for the mobile header. |
As far as I can tell, most screens have at most four such icons/labels. So, might you be able to show (larger?) icons above (smaller?) labels on narrower viewports? Another alternative might be to show an overflow menu at the point at which the viewport becomes too narrow (ensuring actions are ordered by most to least used, of course). |
✅ I think the current version already features a lot more labeled icons, even in narrow mobile views. If you disagree, please feel free to re-open this issue (and please provide example) :) |
✅ UI: variables/config, reset, first utilities
I was surprised by the number of unlabelled icons, icons which in many cases, don’t adequately indicate functionality (e.g. lightning bolt = role management?). As I made my browser window wider, I realised that labels where only hidden for narrower (but not very narrow) viewports. I would encourage you to show labels whenever possible, otherwise the UI becomes hard to comprehend and use confidently.
