I'm open to support as needed. I'm a current user/admin of Redash. Planning an upgrade to version 10. Happy to help with documentation, testing, code reviews and open to committing code as well. |

Redash doesn't yet support translations, so there's no files to translate at the moment. Give the project a bit of time to get some other things working again first, then support for translations will likely be added. 😄 |

Probably need to decide upon priorities (eg CI and docs first, PR's can come afterwards), and also figure out what else is busted and needs urgent fixing. eg the pySAML2 problem |

Great news! I hope to participate in maintaining Redash as it is a fantastic project. I am proficient in using Python for development, and you can see my contributions to open source projects on my profile. But I can't find a suitable way to participate, maybe we should add label to some issues, like "good first issue". |

@arikfr how much revenue did the cloud version at redash.io generate before it was shut down? Perhaps that could be reinstated as a way to compensate contributors and hire in talent/tools as and when needed? |

@rpmcoding access to redash.io is already granted - it's the getredash/website repo. As for DO - I need to figure how exactly to do this, but we should also figure how exactly we want to distribute releases and whether we want to keep maintaining the cloud images and DO marketplace. |

Good questions, @guidopetri ! As I don't want to leave this hanging I will answer in a brief way to try and cover most of the open topics. Also imagine some disclaimer as these replies are my own views, don't necessarily represent the company, etc, etc. :)
The short answer to this is: no. Databricks has an internal fork but it's deeply integrated in the platform and evolved beyond what Redash is/was.
The above is what led to the decision as Databricks couldn't keep maintaining the project but there was enough interest and usage to justify community effort.
Not really. While there is synergy in mission between Redash and Databricks, the scope of what Databricks does is so much larger that there is no danger of Redash competing with Databricks. The opposite is also true in a way (there is no danger of Databricks competing with Redash).

Well me & @gabrieldutra are still around, but it's unrelated to our roles at Databricks.
It's a new group and does not include original Redash employees (except those who wanted to stay involved).
If I had more time I might've tried to use Midjourney to create a bat signal image with the Redash logo 😆 I try to stay on top of conversations where I'm mentioned but still miss a few. I think that pinging on Discord might work best as it sends more persistent notifications :) |

The Redash project is now being rebooted as a community-led effort. The time has come for our community to actively participate in shaping Redash's development and direction.
Although activity on our GitHub has been limited in the past year, Redash's adoption continues. To facilitate this transition, I reached out to individuals interested in maintaining the project, and the new team of maintainers currently has 7 volunteers. We encourage contributions from anyone, regardless of technical expertise. Whether you're a developer with coding skills or a user who can assist with testing, documentation, feedback, or other areas, your contribution is essential and valued. The future development of Redash will be entirely driven by the community.
Our immediate focus is ensuring Redash's security and reliability by updating dependencies and improving Continuous Integration (CI) processes. Following that, the focus will be on adding features, fixing bugs, and continuing to develop Redash, but that will ultimately be up to the community.
There is still much to accomplish beyond this announcement, such as determining the governance model. While I plan to remain as the BDFL for the time being, I envision day-to-day leadership emerging from the community. I am open to suggestions on this front.
I acknowledge that this announcement may be lacking in specific details. Please feel free to ask questions, voice any confusion or concerns, and I will provide clarification in the comments.
