Great news! Is a release planned in the near future? Deps in 10.1 are outdated and don't work from source with latest ubuntu (for example). |

How can the community start getting involved? I'd love to help, but I can see a lot of outstanding PRs. |

Probably need to decide upon priorities (eg CI and docs first, PR's can come afterwards), and also figure out what else is busted and needs urgent fixing. eg the pySAML2 problem |

Great news! I hope to participate in maintaining Redash as it is a fantastic project. I am proficient in using Python for development, and you can see my contributions to open source projects on my profile. But I can't find a suitable way to participate, maybe we should add label to some issues, like "good first issue". |

Redash restarted without seeing any action, are you really not ready to continue? Since being acquired by databricks, there has been no news from Redash anymore |

@arikfr how much revenue did the cloud version at redash.io generate before it was shut down? Perhaps that could be reinstated as a way to compensate contributors and hire in talent/tools as and when needed? |

I wonder if we can contact him another way.. would be so much more
impactful if we had his involvement and support.
If not, reredash has a nice ring to it lol

As a data point, we've set up the new Redash Community repository here, and we're currently getting things setup around that (people, CI, plans-for-whats-next, etc): |

When can we expect a new version? It seems like you haven't seen any news about this for a while. |

It is already difficult to merge the code here. You have another option available: |

Hello everyone, what should we think of the 2 different repo's? This one and https://github.com/RedashCommunity/redash I must confess it's a bit confusing for users who use and enjoy Redash. Anyway, thank you very much for your efforts ! And thanks for your answers |

Hi everyone, Apologies again on going AWOL... I sometimes dive deep on things and neglect everything else, including my email inbox. 😬 I hope that it's not too late and that people didn't lose all hope entirely... Two settings change I just did that should help going forward:
Thanks again for everyone who expressed their want to get involved and mostly to those who went through the effort of forking 🙏 |

How does everyone feel about Discord? I created a Discord server for Redash sometime ago, which I shared first with maintainers. But let's have everyone who's interested join -> https://discord.gg/tN5MdmfGBp |

@arikfr , I had a few questions, mainly about Redash's relationship with Databricks. Feel free to answer these piecemeal, I know it's a lot lol:

The Redash project is now being rebooted as a community-led effort. The time has come for our community to actively participate in shaping Redash's development and direction.
Although activity on our GitHub has been limited in the past year, Redash's adoption continues. To facilitate this transition, I reached out to individuals interested in maintaining the project, and the new team of maintainers currently has 7 volunteers. We encourage contributions from anyone, regardless of technical expertise. Whether you're a developer with coding skills or a user who can assist with testing, documentation, feedback, or other areas, your contribution is essential and valued. The future development of Redash will be entirely driven by the community.
Our immediate focus is ensuring Redash's security and reliability by updating dependencies and improving Continuous Integration (CI) processes. Following that, the focus will be on adding features, fixing bugs, and continuing to develop Redash, but that will ultimately be up to the community.
There is still much to accomplish beyond this announcement, such as determining the governance model. While I plan to remain as the BDFL for the time being, I envision day-to-day leadership emerging from the community. I am open to suggestions on this front.
I acknowledge that this announcement may be lacking in specific details. Please feel free to ask questions, voice any confusion or concerns, and I will provide clarification in the comments.
