The version counter crossed 1.0
gh-aw published v1.0.0 yesterday, and the open pull-request queue fell from 11 to 6 overnight. The morning snapshot is already in motion: six commits landed before 01:20 UTC, community reports cluster on engines and checkout, and the audit fleet kept its usual cadence.
Read the tag with care. The release notes frame v1.0.0 as housekeeping: glossary and architecture refresh, instruction sync, debug logs, and a schema-coverage demo for
work-queue-policy. The stack that actually moved is still v0.93.6: MCP Gateway v0.5.0, firewall v0.29.0, and compile-time checks for missing step references. Treat 1.0.0 as a milestone marker. Keep shipping the hardening work underneath it.Key metrics

Overnight merges worth a look:
Yesterday larger theme was unified sessions: privacy-preserving safe-output outcomes (#72138), job and script outcomes (#72146), memory saves (#72133), and harness retry telemetry (#71934). Copilot CLI moved to 1.0.103 (#72099). The AI Transparency Notice (#71520) is called out in the 1.0.0 notes. Don Syme softened container pin failure messages (#72093).
Community desk
Seven human issues sit inside the 100-issue sample. They are the signal under the automation noise.
autoresolves togpt-5.6-luna-utility, which rejects custom tools, and thedetectionalias no longer resolves. That is a user-facing regression. A small alias fixture would keep it from returning.pull_requesteditedevent, so a body-only fix cannot be re-reviewed.actions-lock.json. This is the closest community fix to land.Discussions remain an automation channel: 48 of 50 are Audits. A short reply on the Vertex threads and the model-alias report would do more for engagement than another audit post.
Where to invest
aw-essentialissues were refreshed today, including #72342, #72033, and #72034. Copies that respawn dilute the list.cascade-suspected. A saved view forcommunityplus human authors would make the morning faster for people and for this digest.auto, detection) after #72353. Routing bugs are cheaper to pin than to rediscover. The other open pull requests are routine: instruction sync (#72363), Actions version bumps (#72350), debug logging (#72299), and a dependabot bump of
fast-uri(#71506).📈 Trend Analysis
Issues and pull requests
The downloaded issue and pull-request samples are capped, so this chart is a spotlight on the newest records, not the full backlog. Opens and merges bunch up on Oct 25-27: 32 pull requests opened and 24 merged on Oct 26, then 11 opened and 6 merged before this morning cutoff. The 100 issue closes all sit on Oct 27 because that is how far the closed-issue sample reaches. Read that spike as sample shape, not a sudden cleanup of the whole tracker.
Commit activity and contributors
Commit flow over the last 30 days is steady and agent-heavy: 1,268 commits, about 42 a day, with a peak of 81 on Oct 16 and a full-day trough of 20 on Oct 23. Unique authors stay between two and five. Copilot and Peli de Halleux account for most of the line, with Don Syme, Maggie Appleton, Siva Kesava R Kakarla, Landon Cox, and Salil visible across the month. The six commits today are a partial morning count, not a slowdown. The 7-day average sits near 35 once that partial day is included, versus about 45 the week before.
