My server is running CentOS 6.4, I've installed gitlab 5.3 according to this instruction
https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlab-recipes/blob/master/install/CentOS_6.md

The init script is also the latest version
https://raw.github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/5-3-stable/lib/support/init.d/gitlab

All checks run OK, but when I attempt to start gitlab service, it doesn't actually start(

Remove the socket file (rm /home/git/gitlab/tmp/sockets/gitlab.socket) then try to start gitlab again.

Although CentOS is not a supported OS, I am running GitLab on CentOS 6.4 with no problems.

Hi @IZelenka is this still a problem? Did you try what @keith9820 wrote?

Hey @IZelenka

It's been a month since we heard from you so I will close this one. You can check the revised guide which I wrote here and if the problem still persists, open a new issue. Thanks!
