Missing controller funtionality in quake #86

It seems like some buttons are not mapped such as zoom on a controller. In addition the esc button does not exist on the touch screen or keyboard so there is no way to change one. Can an esc button be added or is there another way of mapping a button such as the dpad or l3 buttons?
