We'll need this If we start serving variable fonts which contain a width axis.

We currently have the following for usWeightClass to css font-weight:

font style name font usWeightClass css font-weight
Thin 250 100
ExtraLight 275 200
Light 300 300
Regular 400 400
...

It would be nice to have this documented and tests in place before we begin on boarding wdth axis fonts.

Hi Marc,
Do this old trick (for GDI, I believe) is still relevant for variable fonts? Which VF engine uses GDI?
