Question regarding clustering and label filters

I'm running the Agent as a DaemonSet in flow mode, with clustering enabled. I was hoping for some clarification on whether or not this configuration will give me problems when trying to scrape ServiceMonitor CRDs. I used the ServiceMonitor example that is recommended for DaemonSets in the flow mode documentation, and additionally enabled clustering:

Let's say the ServiceMonitor in question ends up being a deployment with a single pod. Will I run into an issue where a target gets assigned to an Agent that is not on the same host, and all metrics get dropped due to the label filter rule? Should clustering and the label filter rule be considered mutually exclusive?
