  1. When logged into a user account, it no longer says "Welcome, NAME HERE"...but instead still says "My Account". It used to say your email address or some name reference so you knew what your account was. See old screen shot of Cheryl's from last year.

  2. I deleted all my saved searches and set them up individually as you had recommended, in order to get all the "New Listing, "Price Change" and "Under Contract/Sold" notices via email, but it's still not working.
    see screen shot.

We are worried no one is being notified.

  1. That was requested. Someone (I can't remember if it was you or Natasha) said it was taking up too much room. And that it was awkward to say "Welcome, email address" and that "Log out / My account" was a good enough signal that you were logged in. (I happen to agree that a welcome message is superfluous, but will change it back if you tell me what info you want there.
  2. What makes you think the app is not working? Are you saying it's not sending notifications? I just tested it by creating a saved search for properties "over $6mil". I then changed the price of a property to "$10 mil" and got a notification. I then changed the price back and (correctly) did not get a notification. So can you elaborate a bit more on what's not working for you?

I also created a saved search for "New Listings" - After doing so, I went into a listing that was not appearing in the original search and changed it's status to "New Listing" and got a notification as expected.

Or is there a way to reference which email address you're using somehow, somewhere in the "My Account" link page or once logged in show: Welcome "name/text in front of @...."? I don't know.

I realize it happens, but it's not happening all the time. Even brand new listings that were never "active" or "For Sale". I'm at a loss.

Unfortunately. We have no way of knowing a user's first name or last name with just an email.

We could take all the info before the "@" symbol, but in most cases, that won't be a name.

I mean, the real question is, "Who is not realizing they're logged in?"

I'm miffed that someone could see "My Account and Log Out" and not think they're logged into a website.

Is there a way to recover a forgotten password too?

Ah - so you're thinking our average user has multiple accounts? Or is this just for you?

There's no way to recover a password, but you can reset it by clicking the "Forgot Password" link on this page: http://johnsislandrealestate.com/users/sign_in

No people use different email accounts for different reasons. When you log into user accounts elsewhere you can see which email you used to create it.

I have several clients who use different email accounts for various reasons, as well as myself.

I'll review how BlueTent did the rental website for a reference & get back to you.
