I have no direct right of ownership over this code, that is claimed by LSU.

@duncanmmacleod, this presumably means the copyright header in all python modules should also be changed? How will that work for files with different authors (e.g., most of them are claimed by @jrsmith02)?

That is up to the owners of each of those rights. For most individuals, their work is by default owned by their employer, I'm just trying to cover my own tracks - we've all done a bad job of this to date. @jrsmith02 and others should take the time to understand the copyright policy of their own hosts.

In practice most universities won't care at all, since this is open source software, but we should try and do things correctly nonetheless.
