General state of official api 2 support

Does 2.10 support api 2 yet? I myself have had issues using the official hue app so far... what is the agenda? is there any field I can help with? I'm very curious about what is going on so please update us!

Unfortunately, no. As mentioned in #104, I don't have a hue bridge to work from and thus am unable to work on it. You can work around this, however, by using other hue enabled apps that don't use the v2 api.

Is there still ambition to migrate to the new Hue API?

The new official Hue app, as well as most 3rd party apps that offer advanced features, require the V2 API. The entertainment API only works on official Hue lights though. This add-on, once it supports the V2 API, would unlock the whole Hue ecosystem (again) for people using third party lights. That's a big deal, because the ecosystem is growing significantly but people with non-Philips lights are completely left behind.

It's still on the roadmap. I'll get to it once I'm able to obtain a bridge and have some free time to commit to it. If anyone is interested in contributing, I would gladly review an PR that comes in.

I'm starting to implement the v2 api as well as improving support for the existing v1 api under a new branch refactor, with hopes to have this completed in the next several months. As this is going to be a large update, it would be helpful if some beta testers would run this new build to confirm that things that have previously worked continue to work.

I'm currently planning to first fix all old existing bugs surrounding the v1 api as well as a general code refactor and cleanup. Following this, I hope to implement the v2 api.

I did a fork of the hassio-repo (https://github.com/glebiller/hass-emulated-hue-hassio-repo).
You should be able to use this as a repository in Hassio and it will install my fork instead.

I know, but your Docker image is not publicly available. I get an authentication error: Head "https://ghcr.io/v2/glebiller/hass-emulated-hue-core/manifests/master": denied
I think you need to make your docker image public. But this is not possible with a Free github packages account.

I could try to investigate, however, to confirm with you, this is absolutely not production-ready and does NOT work yet with the official Hue App.
The /eventstream endpoint is not implemented and the app instantly crashes when calling this endpoint.

If you are hoping to install this version and use it, it's not ready, sorry :)
