@Elkniwt this is built now. In the next release, with two gears selected, the panel also names the module at which they would mesh where they stand now, and you can select and copy that line. Below it, Fit module of both gives both gears that module in one step; each keeps its teeth, place, height and centre hole. It works when the two modules differ too, and for a pinion inside a ring gear. |

Uh oh!

When you select two gear objects, a convenient text pops up saying "Gear pair: centre distance XXX for them to mesh. Their centres are YYY apart now", and the gear object adjustment dialog can say "Pitch circle ZZZ. Meshes with any gear of module MMM; centre distance = (teeth + teeth) x module / 2."
Could the text that pops up for two gears being selected instead say "Their centres are YYY apart now, a module of MMM would allow them to mesh", where MMM is a number computed via centre distance * 2 / (teeth + teeth). Bonus points if that computed number can be selected for copy paste. Instant dono ($25 USD) if there is a button that implements "adjust module of both", leaving the center hole and gear height untouched.
