Expression based population is an interesting approach, PR's welcome to add them. Currently we are based on SDC 2.7.0 but it is planned that till the end of the year SDC 2.8.0 should be published for ballot @walterwellauer .

I suggest to include the work already done related to expression based population in the release beeing publsihed so it can be tested. I guess there will still be enough work to be done for a future release, especially with SDC 3.0.0 possibilities
