Images for landing page

We need 3 suitable images for the landing page(features, contribute & merchandise).

• Good contrast between image and type(white/orange)
• blurred!?

There's one more thing you can do to make text more readable on an image: a very subtle and wide text-shadow (this one is for white text):
text-shadow: 0px 0px 100px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.4);

This works for dark text, too, with a white shadow, it's basically just an overlay that increases contrast between text and photo.

Might be worth a try.

i tested @espy approach... it looks better. would leave it that way and push it to the backlog.
