Welcome to the HEELS wiki!

HEELS is a method that uses summary-level statistics, including marginal association statistics and the LD matrix, to estimate heritability by iteratively solving the REML score equation. HEELS provides heritability estimates that are as precise as those based on REML-based estimates that use individual-level data, such as GREML.

In our wiki pages, you can find some basic instructions on how to use HEELS for heritability estimation and LD matrix decomposition using our package. We will continue to update these pages as we receive questions from the users. Note that we have made our testing data available for download on Zenodo here. Feel free to download those data and follow along the tutorials.
