Summary
Hyprland segfaults on every exit (logout via
uwsm stop) while grouped windows exist. The crash is inCCompositor::cleanup(): destroying a window destroys itsCGroup, and~CGroup()callsCWindowGroupTarget::assignToSpace()on a target whose space/window is already being torn down.Side effect: because the compositor dies instead of exiting cleanly, every Chromium/Electron client aborts (SIGTRAP) and systemd-coredump writes their cores during the next login, which makes that login very slow.
Version
Lua config (HyDE). Two monitors, dwindle layout. Started through uwsm.
Steps to reproduce
group = "set"/"set always").uwsm stop, orhl.dispatch(hl.dsp.exec_cmd("uwsm stop"))from thehyprland.shutdownhandler as HyDE does).CCompositor::cleanup().Reproduced 4 times in 3 days, every logout since the groups were set up. Closing all windows before exiting avoids it.
Backtrace (most frequent, 3 of 4)
Backtrace (variant, same path)
Looks like
~CGroup()shouldn't re-assign the group target to a space (or touch decorations) while the compositor is cleaning up. Happy to provide the full coredump info or test a patch. All reactions
