I took a stab at altering the source code today to remedy the NA problem. This requires an additional input (an effort matrix of 1's for surveys and 0's for no surveys) but it does the job.
new formatDistData which puts in NAs

Previous commit included files in src-x64 created when I compiled the source for testing.

No changes to the actual data, just recompressed to take up less space in the package (and prevent one R check warning).
