I am on Windows 8 Pro, x86.
Using Explorer7Fixes.1.0.0.2

The install.bat file won't work as it says I have the wrong version of windows. This wasn't usually a problem, as I'd manually move the .dll file into Windows/System32 and register it myself in an admin elevated cmd window. That's not really important, just a side note....

Had to reset my Internet Explorer settings to remove Conduit Search hijacker. This stopped explorer7fixes.dll from working in File Explorer, because it was loaded into IE as an 'addon'. Now I cannot get it to work no matter how much I unregister and re-register the Explorer7Fixes.1.0.0.2 version of the .dll, and this is even after restarting explorer.exe/restarting/shutting down.

System Restore fixed this problem for me the last time it happened (I restored back to a time when explorer7fixes.dll was working), but it appears that won't work this time as my restore points are corrupted.

I also cannot find-out how to install the files in the latest 'Explorer7Fixes-master.zip', since explorer7fixes.dll file doesn't seem to be in there.

Please can someone help?

I managed to fix the disappearing explorer7fixes.dll functionality in File Explorer after resetting IE's settings without needing System Restore.

I had CCleaner installed, and this enabled me to fix it by going to CCleaner>Tools>Startup and enable "Helper - Explorer7Fixes BHO Class". This worked even though there is no longer any record of the 'addon' in IE after resetting IE to default. I have no idea if it will work if you install CCleaner after having to reset IE's settings and didn't have it already installed.
