Pixel 8 pro loosing config #7567
Comments
Please update your bug report with the version of the mobile app and server, as well as the log files from the app. What do you mean by "user settings are missing"? What albums are unconfigured? the backup settings? |
On holidays at the moment will update as soon as possible |
@IronBeardKnight If I set up folders, close the app, then re-open....the folders are no longer present. For me at least, it seems to be a timing thing. Like, the app has to think for a bit about which folders it was supposed to sync rather than displaying last selected on app open. Does this occur for you, too? |
If you force close the app, it makes sense that it needs to reload some of this data when you re-open it . Is this causing an issue with the backups? |
I have the same issue. For me mostly the problem is that the backup config is gone every time the app gets closed. Which means the Immich app for my inteded usage becomes unusable. So I open the app everything is still logged in, but no backup config is present. Set everything up. Starts backing up nicely. Go do something else open the app again, no backup config present. Pixel 6 |
Do you have background backup enabled? I do, and it backs up new images even if the "app open" function causes the backed up folders to not be selected. |
@alternativesurfer this is a good clue and inline with what I observed on my wife phone as well |
@Thomvh This is repeatable for me on 2 phones. One running Google's Android 14, the other GrapheneOS (android 14 update). |
For me this doesn't fix anything. The config never comes back and the
backups also don't work after closing the app.

What happens if you pull up the backup page and just wait?
Because eventually my selected backup folders appear. Its almost like that
setting is being saved server side and it takes a moment for the app to
pick up the config.

Same thing happens to me, close the app and configured backup folders are gone. Which unfortunately makes immich useless for me. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with current OS version. |
The problem is that at some point the foreground app will get closed for a reboot, empty battery, you name it. It will then ease it's configuration, no matter how long it has been alive before. The first backend job on Android runs normally, but later ones after ending the frontend don't have a configuration anymore. |
This is happening to me as well on my daughter's pixel 8a. Works just fine on samsung. same server same version of the apps, both up to date. |
The bug
It appears that when exiting the app from the app draw that immich is loosing all of its config the next time it's opened its like its unconfigured with no albums configured and user setting a
