^B and ^F are ubiquitously used as shortcuts to go back a character, and go forward a character. They do not work in irssi (I should note that alt+b and alt+f do work... for going back and forward a character). To go back a character I have to instead use the left/right arrows... which is an inconvenience because I'm a touch typist and the left/right arrow keys are anyway awkwardly placed in my keyboard.
Please have stock irssi come with these two bindings by default:
/bind ^F forward_character
/bind ^B backward_character
The good news is that they're both free right now... so I can't think of a single reason not to go ahead with this!
