@bmerry Hi Bruce, do you think this PR can me merge soon ? The current hard requirement towards redis<3.5 is holding back upgrades for any project wishing to use redis==3.5.0 (published on April the 29th)

Thanks for the work - I've been looking at it this morning and made a small tweak. As soon as my tweak passes Travis I'll merge.
