Dynamic positioning and sizing of cells

I want to develop a dynamic timing diagram or automatically updating Gantt chart using Draw.io/Diagrams.net
I'm using the Desktop release and every time I've to link two cells (boxes) or adjust the size of one, I've to manually update the size and location of all of the other cells,

Describe the solution you'd like
I would like to be able to link positions and widths to a variable name within the diagram and be able to adjust the variables to allow the diagram to update automatically

Describe alternatives you've considered
I've looked at the Dynamic links and scripting from within Draw.io but a majority I can find are more associated with visibility and complex plugin scripting.

Additional context
Would be great if there could be a scripting background that can engage animations or more complex interactions. if this is here, a clear manual that could be used to perform these tasks?
