Use this to delete trailing white spaces.

(add-hook 'before-save-hook 'delete-trailing-whitespace)

With elpy we have the following helpful keybindings:

C-c C-t	Run tests
C-c C-v	run pep8 test
C-c C-r f	(elpy-format-code)

this pre-commit hook runs a pep8 check on the commit.
